- a mop and bucket
- thanksgiving decor
- Christmas decor
- flip flops
- an ironing board piled high with towels that need to be folded
- a carton of expired almond milk
- a pinterest project fail
- stacks of Stella and Dot catalogues
- a pile of mismatched socks
- a ten pound bag of whole wheat flour
- some gross hockey jerseys that need to be washed
- yarn that I keep buying because I just know I'm going to find time for all those crochet projects I have pinned
- my super awesome, stainless steel, front-loading washer and dryer that I get super excited about...except when they are full of laundry that needs to be dried and/or sorted and folded. Like they are now.
The laundry room doesn't always look like that. It's actually a beautiful room with hardwood floors and a window overlooking the front yard. The door to the room connects to my kitchen so it is easy to access. My husband put in a whole set of cupboards and drawers so there is tons of storage for the garden stuff I canned and all my crafting supplies and cleaning products and various things that always needs a space. Lately though (and by lately I mean since school started) our life is so crazy that I just shove stuff in the room when I need to get it out of the way.
Sometimes I feel like that. My life is so full of beautiful and wonderful things. God has blessed me with an amazing husband, children who are thriving, a supportive family, good friends, work that I enjoy, a stunningly beautiful home, a great church. Yesterday you heard about the harder things in life, but it is also full of great things. But it's so full that sometimes I feel like I'm just shoving stuff into my heart and life and not really making room for the important things.
I'm purging my laundry room today. Maybe it's time to purge some other parts of me too.
